The troops are specialized and are key to the the #OperationLindaNchi which was deployed in Somalia. The experience they have will help to stabilise peace in Eastern region of DRC. Team comprises of upto 1000 troops who will spend their time in Congo.

Kenyan troops lands in Goma, eastern DRC.They are deployed under the EAST AFRICAN REGIONAL peace keeping mission.The troops which are there to fight the rebel’s who’ve invaded the region and capturing different village’s in the country and displacing people.

The chief of Kenya’s defense forces, Gen. Robert Kibochi, saw the soldiers off at the international airport in Nairobi and urged them to be obedient during their mission. Also, encouraged them to do the rightful thing.

“We are known to follow the law wherever we go. Respect the chiefs of defense where you go,” Kibochi said.

The Kenyan forces will be based in Goma, Eastern Congo’s largest city and the capital of North Kivu province, where M23 rebels and Congolese troops clashed heavily on Friday. M23 troops being few kilometres from where the Kenyan troops are situated.
